Camp Activities

Each day, campers will start with a group activity at the pavilion, led by a crew leader. Then, they’ll explore different subjects in small groups, engaging in activities such as:

  • Outdoor Skills: Learn how to make fire, identify animal tracks, and other essential outdoor skills. These activities will be geared to the grade range of each group.
  • Arts & Crafts: From friendship bracelets to drawing and more! The crafts will focus on creating art that uses recycled materials and on producing meaningful pieces that foster a deeper connection to the natural environment, while emphasizing creativity and self-expression.
  • Farm-Based Learning: This year, the campers will be deeply involved in the farm's daily operations, including animal care, seeding, harvesting, planting, and using crops grown at Massaro. The goal is to integrate the camp and farm into a single unit, thereby strengthening a sense of community on the farm and in the surrounding areas.
  • Sports & Free Play: Each day begins with a field activity that encourages teamwork and fosters a stronger sense of community among campers. Free Play is limited but conducted with the grade groups.
  • In the afternoons, campers will select a free-choice activity that changes daily. This activity could be anything from hiking to planting to fort building. Offers change daily, and campers will know the offering at the morning meeting.

Why Choose Massaro Summer Camp?

A farm-based summer camp offers campers the opportunity to explore a local farm and gain firsthand insight into what it is like to be a farmer. Campers will grow both their body and minds as they spend warm summer days learning, creating, exploring, tasting, and experiencing daily life on a working farm. They develop lifelong friendships, learn life skills, and have a ton of fun getting dirty, wet, and touching the soil that their food comes from.

Join us for a summer packed with adventure, learning, and fun at Massaro Community Farm!
